Not The Olympic Spirit

Olympic spirit has got a lot of meanings. Pierre de Coubertin's statement says: "The important thing is not to win, but to take part", viewing athletes who try their best. In 2000, CNN published an article on Eric Moussambani entitled "Olympic spirit: Athlete competes for love of sport", which would give anothe rmeaning to this term.

But sometimes athletes act inappropriately in the context of the game. Such behaviour is frowned upon by the vast majority of both players and fans.
