Gustavo Kuerten: Guga's Goodbye

Following the shock retirement of Justine Henin just two weeks ago, another tennis star bit goodbye from the tennis fans. Wearing the shirt that he wore in his 1997 championship performance at Roland Garros, Gustavo Kuerten on Sunday retired from the tennis.

Gustavo Kuerten was born on September 10th, 1976 in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. He is a former World No. 1 tennis player. He won the French Open three times between 1997 and 2001.

His opponents will miss him too. "He's a great personality and just everybody loves him. I don't know even one guy who says something bad about him. The sport is going to miss him," said Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic.

Beside 3 French Open titles, Kuerten won 1 Tennis Masters Cup, 5 ATP Masters Series and 11 ATP Tour titles aswell.
